Beth moved into Homebase in June 2023. “It has truly transformed my life.” Beth says. “It gave me an affordable and safe place to work on myself while taking the time I needed to heal, which I am eternally grateful for.” She feels Right at Home has developed its own community where she is taken care of and people are looking out for each other’s best interests.

In September 2024, we heard Beth was looking for employment, and offered her a position with our groundskeeping crew through the Supportive Tenant Employment Program and Services (STEPS). This program offers entry level employment to tenants living in Right at Home’s buildings. “This program is amazing for anyone looking to get back into the workforce”, Beth tells us. Beth has proven herself valuable to our team and comes into work every day eager to give her best efforts. Beyond yard maintenance and snow removal, Beth has stepped up to contribute other maintenance skills that are valuable in helping us maintain our properties, including Beth’s own home that she takes pride in.

When asked how living and working with Right at Home has made a difference to her, Beth said “ It is by no means an easy task, to take on the challenge of helping people who find themselves needing low income housing. Whether it be language barriers, disabilities or addictions, it is arduous work! And Right at Home is doing a phenomenal job! I am truly grateful for the opportunity for growth and development that RAHHS provides on all levels.”
