The Inner Cities Agencies Foundation’s (ICAF) annual Mac & Cheese Luncheon takes place on March 22, 2018. The luncheon will raise funds to support various services provided in the Edmonton inner city, including affordable housing, healthcare, nutrition, education and more. We encourage you to consider purchasing a ticket to this worthwhile event to benefit the valuable programs that ICAF offers.
Why Mac & Cheese?
Inner City Awareness week was proclaimed to be the third week of March in 1996 by Mayor Bill Smith. Since then, ICAF has put on an annual Mac & Cheese Luncheon to create awareness surrounding the struggles and challenges affecting those that use the inner city resources. The Mac & Cheese Luncheon will coincide with a free roast beef dinner also hosted by ICAF for inner city residents to kick off Inner City Awareness Week. The dinner is estimated to serve 800 inner city residents who experience poverty in our city. The ongoing theme of these events allows supporters to gain awareness of challenges some people face in our city. Meanwhile, they experience a typical meal those experiencing poverty have on a regular basis – mac and cheese. At the same time, those less fortunate are treated to a gourmet roast beef dinner.
Keynote Speaker
Amanda Dauvin is the keynote speaker for our Mac & Cheese Luncheon this year. Amanda has a background in psychology and has spoken publicly about her own struggles from her past. She believes in teaching youth about physical and emotional well-being, and encourages those who face obstacles to view such hurdles as stepping stones to achieve one’s higher self.
