Safe, Affordable Housing for Disadvantaged Individuals

McCauley Elms was built in response to a housing crisis in Edmonton around 1990 that was highly supported by the community. As one of the letters in support of the project stated
Our support is based on our knowledge of the need for safe, affordable housing for low-income residents of the inner-city. We have first-hand knowledge of the inadequate, dilapidated, unsafe, and illegal dwellings many people in the inner-city are forced to live in because they have no other choices.
The building has made a positive impact on its community by providing quality housing in an affordable way.
