Welcome to our new website. We’re Right at Home Housing Society – the not-for-profit affordable housing organization formerly known as Edmonton Inner City Housing Society (EICHS) and Intermet Housing Society of Edmonton.
For over 30 years we worked independently to meet the need for affordable housing in Edmonton. We realized we shared a common goal to provide attainable housing solutions that extend beyond the inner city, while offering tenants the essential supports they need to be successful. We felt that we would have a stronger voice and be more effective in serving the community by combining our resources and expertise – and working together as one entity. Today we are pleased to be operating 26 units of affordable housing throughout the city, serving over 1,000 residents.

YES In My Backyard
Coinciding with the launch of our new name, we are unveiling our YIMBY campaign. The YIMBY campaign was created to promote safe, well-managed attainable housing in all our neighbourhoods. We invite you to help change the conversation about home. It’s easy… all you have to do is sign up online to show that you support the idea of affordable housing in your community.
Four new affordable housing developments in the works.
We have several new projects underway, including the construction of four new developments that will include 78 units designed to house up to 250 residents. We’ve sought to create a variety of residential units to meet a range of needs for families and individuals. All of these developments will feature “green” design, with one project being Canada’s very first net zero multi-family residential development.

Individually, we have accomplished a great deal as Edmonton Inner City Housing Society and Intermet Housing Society of Edmonton. Looking back, both organizations (and those who have generously supported us) can take immense pride in their successful efforts to address the need for affordable housing in the City of Edmonton.
Looking forward, there is much more work to be done, as the need for affordable housing has never been more pronounced. The entire team at Right at Home Housing Society is up to the challenge.
